SwitchAppLanguage does not collect or transmit personal data, require an account, or include advertising or tracking tools.
What the app does
SwitchAppLanguage is a macOS utility that launches individual applications in a language you choose, without changing your Mac’s system language. This policy describes the data handling of SwitchAppLanguage itself.
Information processed locally
When you select an application, SwitchAppLanguage reads its location, name, icon, bundle identifier, and declared language resources to display the available languages. It also checks running applications to determine whether the selected copy is already open.
This information is processed on your Mac. It is not sent to the developer or to third parties. SwitchAppLanguage does not read the contents of your personal documents to perform these functions.
Language settings stored on your Mac
- Interface language: the language you choose in SwitchAppLanguage Settings is saved in the app’s local macOS preferences.
- Saved application language: if you enable “Keep this language for future launches” and click “Open in this language,” the selected language is saved in that application’s macOS preferences. Copies sharing the same bundle identifier may share this setting.
- Single launch: when the option is disabled, the language is passed to the selected application for that launch and its saved language override is removed when you click Open.
These preferences are stored locally and are not uploaded by SwitchAppLanguage.
No analytics, tracking, or data sharing
SwitchAppLanguage does not include third-party analytics or advertising SDKs, track your activity, or sell or share personal data. Its core features do not require an internet connection. There is no user account or developer-operated database containing your app usage or language selections.
Your choices and retention
Local preferences remain until changed or removed. To remove a saved language override, select the application, uncheck “Keep this language for future launches,” and click “Open in this language.” Quit the target application first if it is already running.
To remove SwitchAppLanguage’s own interface-language override, choose “System language” in Settings and reopen the app. Removing SwitchAppLanguage does not necessarily remove preferences saved for other applications.
Other applications and services
Applications launched with SwitchAppLanguage have their own privacy policies and data practices. Apple’s App Store, macOS services, and any website hosting this policy may process information under their own policies. This policy does not describe those independent services.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when the app’s functionality or data practices change. The date above identifies the latest revision.
